Minutes for Memories - Regis College Chapter
Background:
In the fall of 2013, Nicole Skarbek reached out to Minutes For Memories for a service learning project for her Small Group Communication class at Regis College. Upon reaching out, she fell in love with the mission of the nonprofit, and classmates agreed that Minutes For Memories fell in line with the values of Regis College and the Sister’s of St. Joseph. The preliminary goal was a class project that turned into something that resonated far deeper with students. Initially, the first year objective was to raise awareness throughout the Regis community on disabilities and helping others.
Mission:
- Raise awareness of the impact of traumatic injuries on children 5-25, along with the mission of Minutes for Memories
- Host guest speakers and events to promote traumatic injury awareness, while also engaging students on campus to get actively involved with Minutes for Memories
- Implement an Annual Holiday Toy Drive with all toys donated to Boston Children's Hospital
For more information on how to donate a toy, please contact Nicole Skarbek, MFM Chapter Founder and Advisor at Nicole.Skarbek@regiscollege.edu. Arrangements for early toy drop-off may be made through her as well.
